Okay we all know you love instant noodles, but how can you steer away from the MSG?

It is a dilemma and you can easily just use the powder packet if you wish, but here's an alternative recipe for a delicious soup base for instant ramen noodles that is absolutely delicious and takes 6 minutes to cook up!

Ingredients

Serves 1

  • 400-500ml boiled water, depending how soup-y you want it
  • 1 pack instant noodles
  • 1 slice ginger
  • 1 spring onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Boil the kettle. Cut a slice of ginger and cut spring onions into slices.

Ready? Let's cook!

On medium-high heat, pour 400-500ml boiled water into pan and wait till it starts simmering.

Add ginger slice and half the spring onions into the pan. Normally we add in the white part of the spring onion here and leave the green part aside for garnishing. Add the instant ramen noodles into the pan as well.

Boil for 1 minute or until the noodles start breaking apart.

Add sesame oil, soy sauce and salt. Simmer for further 5 minutes.

Serve and garnish with the rest of the spring onions.
