  • 1 tbsp, vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped into chunks
  • 1 clove, garlic, crushed and chopped (or pureed)
  • 10-12 mushrooms, halved
  • 200g roast pork, sliced
  • 100ml chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp cornflour mixture
  • 1 tsp soy sauce, or to taste
  • A pinch of salt, or to taste

Preparation

Prepare vegetables before beginning cooking instructions

Prepare the stock

Heat oil in a wok on high heat, until hot.

Add onions and garlic and fry for 1 minute, be careful not to burn the garlic.

Next add in the mushrooms and roast pork and fry for two minutes

Pour in chicken stock and leave for 1 minute or until it starts to boil.

Then gradually add the 2 tablespoons of cornflour mixture. Once this mixture is well incorporated the sauce should thicken. See our How To section on thickening sauces for more details on this.

Add soy sauce. Taste it and then add salt to taste, if required.

Serve with rice or fried noodles
